RFID Inlay

An IC ( integrated circuit, chip ) and a dipole antenna composes an RFID inlay. To attach the antenna to the IC we commonly use a strap. RFID inlay can either “dry” or “wet”.

RFID inlay or transponder is a semi-finished product that can be converted into a ticket, label, card, or badge etc. It can be offered in a wide variety of sizes tailored to fit any applications. As the RFID applications have been expanding to many areas, the RFID inlay is the most cost effective and flexible solution for RFID applications.

With PET substrate, both sides of an aluminum or copper foil consist out of an RFID transponder with an etched AL or Cu antenna and a golden bump chip by FLIP bonding – RFID dry inlay. After coating with adhesive glue and shaping into the right size, which produces RFID wet inlay. Sandwiched on one or both sides by paper or customized materials, the RFID label is completed.

UHF/HF/NFC RFID Inlay Features

HF/NFC ( Tag inlay/Label inlay ): High Frequency (HF) RFID is a semi-finished product that can be converted into a ticket, a label, a card or a badge etc. It could be offered in a wide variety of sizes tailored to fit your requirements.

UHF ( Tag inlay/Label inlay ) : Ultra High Frequency (UHF) RFID operates between 860-960 MHz and has a read range up to 65ft (20m). UHF has become the most used option in Auto-ID applications due to its long read range and cheap cost. It does have more issues with interference, but a well designed system can overcome these problems. RFID UHF is also well suited for mounting on label stock, making it a perfect item / container-level tagging option.
